Pros
Rejects quickly so you don't have to wait around.Cons
The work is seemingly simple. You answer this question:"When a C6-C7 herniated disc occurs and the C6-C7 nerve root is irritated, the symptoms usually include neck pain and pain in the arms, weakness in the hands and weakness in the arms, shoulder pain, chest pains, uncontrollable sweating, headaches, and possibly more. Many times, this condition can be misdiagnosed.Compression or inflammation of the L5 and/or S1 spinal nerve root may cause radiculopathy symptoms or sciatica, characterized by: Pain, generally felt as a sharp, shooting, and/or searing feeling in the buttock, thigh, leg, foot, and/or toes. Numbness in the foot and/or toes.A pinched L5 nerve root usually results in radiating pain in the foot. This pain can come in the form of numbness, tingling, weakness and shooting and is commonly felt in the big toe, inside of the foot, top of the foot and ankle. C5, as mentioned earlier, along with C3 and C4, contributes to the phrenic nerve that innervates the diaphragm. Roots C5, C6, and C7 produce the long thoracic nerve, responsible for controlling the serratus anterior."
You then can choose the following choices:
Answer choice 1: phrenic nerve
Answer choice 2: 1. Herniated nerve
Answer choice 3: 2. Radiculopathy symptoms
Answer choice 4: 3. Sciatica pain
Answer choice 5: 4. Pinched nerve root
The obvious answer is choice 1, because no other nerve is mentioned in the article.
Once you answer, you then answer the exact same question a second time.
Once you do this, you will get your HIT rejected. The explanation for the rejection is...you are insane. Because you lack sanity, you don't get get the full quarter.
More specifically, the feedback I received in the rejection was "Does not pass sanity check".
Upon further research, I noticed there's a hidden attention check at the bottom of the page. Underneath three submit buttons (yes, there's three of them), there's a tiny slider in the bottom left corner that's very easy to miss. If you don't scroll all the way down, or the bottom left corner of your screen is obscured you won't see it.
It reads "3) Select the number that corresponds with the number of this question."
Presumably, you move it to 3. However, as an insane individual, I cannot be sure of this.
That said, this HIT is just sloppily put together. The fact that it has an hidden, slider attention check at the bottom, beneath three submit buttons, a repeating question, and the fact that you can submit at all without answering every question is just proof of how badly designed this is.
Advice to Requester
I get you're a college student, but that's no excuse for sloppy HITs.Even less of an excuse to claim that anyone who can't make sense of your improperly designed work doesn't pass a sanity test.
Do better. The fact that you reject over 50% of submissions is just proof that there's something wrong with your HIT,s and not that a majority of Workers are insane.
