This requester is some what OK for the most part, but the support team does not 100% of the time do a good job of quality control.

I do the task 99.98% of the time correctly as they ask. Many time hits get rejected when I mark the image as poor quality images when the images are not clear to read or otherwise.

Many of the hits that are given, are images bad quality. Most of the image is not clear or it's not a receipt or the sides of the image and some numbers are cut or I don't see any item codes? When this hit comes up, I do what they asked of me. I click on Most of the image is not clear or it's not a receipt or the sides of the image and some numbers are cut or I don't see any item codes? check mark box, and the support team at times for random reasons marks it was rejected.

If the hit is the hit is done correctly, the result is a auto accepted and paid. A few things happens when the hit is pending. They review and mark it as correct. Other times they mark it was rejected.

When it is pending after 30 sec or more. I will send massage to the Support Team to review the hit. Sometimes they accepted this hit, and other times for reasons that make no sense they reject it.

When they reject it, they will send me a generic reason for the rejection, Dear Worker, We appreciate your effort working on our hit. In an effort to insure quality we review the hit results constantly. Unfortunately your last work was rejected because we have found the result to be inaccurate or not according to instructions. Next time please read and follow instructions carefully before submitting your work. Thank you!

I send them request rejection time after time asking them why they rejected this when I know I did the correct thing. If I am doing something, wrong they will never explain to me what it is I did wrong. I keep asking them how can I learn from this is they keep giving me a generic reason. I find this frustrating as hell.

I hope something will change soon as, I feel this is very unfair.

Advice to Requester

1. Show more examples and details of what needs to be done.
2. Give more detail reasons for the rejections.
3. Keep line of communications open with the support team for workers.
4. Don't relay so much on rejections as it can effect our work.
5. Auto line repeat button for repeat for full Items lines.
6. Button to delete items lines so worker does not have to start over or kick back.
5. Workers would put in quality work if pay was better.

Does anyone have any clue why this Requester has a support staff that reviews hits, but never responds back to the you. This seems immorally wrong that they do not communicates when they have a support team. Why even have one that never communicates backs

So many countless Times I have tell them how unfair the rejections are for the little amount of pay we get. Again. I would like to know what the what is going on with the support staff people who reviews the hits in questions and gives rejections with out a real reason or detail one at the last.

It is immorally wrong that Mturk even allows this sort of thing to happen. They need to crack down on a few key items. They need to push for better Pay, Remove a unfair damaging rejection system. They say they will never internee with disrupts, but they need to because they are the ones that put this unfair rejection system in place.

Horrible instructions, even for a receipt hit. Probable rejection. I skipped through the hits to find a short one with only 7 lines to fill in. Some had around 20/25. For 2 shiny pennies.

This is fairly straightforward: we take the completion time & the reward amount (where available) and calculate the average hourly rate for the task. We then apply that number to a simple range based on US minimum wage standards to color-code the data for easy to digest numerical data.

Color Pay Range (Hourly) Explanation
RED < $7.25 / hr Hourly averages below US Federal minimum wage
ORANGE $7.25 - $10.00 / hr Hourly averages between Federal & highest statewide (CA) minimum wages.
GREEN > $10.00 / hr Hourly averages above all US minimum wage standards

Reward Sentiment

Not all HITs are created equal. Sometimes an hourly wage doesn't convey the full story of a HIT's true worth, so we encourage workers to give their opinion on the overall pay of the task. Was it $8/hr to rate pictures of puppies? A worker could justifiably bump up the rating a bit for something so adorable. 10 hours locked in Inquisit? Even for $10/hr many workers would appreciate the heads up on such a task. The Pay Sentiment rating helps connect workers beyond the hard data.

Communication Ratings

Communication is an underrated aspect of mTurk. Clear, concise directions. A fast response to a clarification question or a resolution to a workflow suggestion can all be valuable aspects of interaction between Requesters & Workers and its worth keeping track of. Plus everyone enjoys the peace of mind knowing that if something does go wrong there will be an actual human getting back to you to solve the issue.

Approval Time Tracking

This rating is strictly for approval times. Let's face it, no one wants to mix approval time ratings with how fast a Requester rejects a HIT, so we've saved rejection flags for another category. This provides a more straightforward way to know about how long your HIT might sit pending before paying out. The default auto-approval for most MTurk tasks is 3 days, the maximum is 30 days. We've tried to base our ratings around those data-points.
