Rejected. I requested to know why, and she responded, "Only hits that have taken less than 10 minutes have been rejected. We have not rejected anything else, so this may be a glitch on MTurk's end.Apologies,

So she's dumping the blame on mturk.
Update: I wrote back to her and my HIT has now been approved. Oddly, she claims that NO hits have been approved, and that all are pending.
I just don't even...
2nd update: These really are new requesters who are confused thanks in part to the mturk platform's lovely design. They ARE really trying to solve what may be multiple technical issues at this point. I wish I knew what to tell them. I'm going to suggest a requester account here and possibly opening a thread on the forum. I feel terribly for this requester, and would like to see things work out for her/them.
Advice to Requester
Keep talking to mturkers. That is the only way to make mturk work.

Rejected for "Completion time" even though my time was in the "average" range of prior completions. Very short HIT - I recommend letting it sit open 10-15 minutes ... or just avoid completely. New Requestor :/ smhAdvice to Requester
Test/time your HITs by completing them yourself first, before penalizing workers for a short completion time.

I'm kind of concerned that the estimate is 27 minutes. It just involves reading a page of text and answering MC questions about your opinions.
