Rejection reversed with the following message: "I have reviewed the resubmitted survey and your responses across both surveys were highly consistent (to an impressive degree given how quickly you completed both), so obviously you were paying very close attention; additionally, for whatever reason, your fraud score dropped to 0 on the second survey. Rejected: "Unfortunately your HIT could not be approved due to non-usability of your data due to signs of inattentive responding failed attention checks inconsistent responding andor patterned responding and due to our software reporting detection of fraudulent activity andor use of automated scriptsbotting on the survey page If you believe that this decision was made in error please feel free to contact the research team either through the MTURK platform or by email at at3396drexeledu"After contacting, I received this email response: "There wasn't any one particular item which caused a problem, rather, there are a couple of patterns of responses that tend to show up pretty reliably when folks aren't giving a survey their full attention, and looking back over it, yours followed those patterns to a significant degree, and in addition, you had an automated fraud score that Qualtrics generates for all participants automatically that was just above the cutoff where Qualtrics starts saying you're a bot. That said, I definitely understand that there are a small number of cases where people's genuine reactions to questions just happen to end up following that pattern out of sheer bad luck, and sometimes the rules of thumb we use to eliminate illegitimate data end up accidentally causing us to reject valid responses. We have also had a few participants in the past indicate that they received elevated fraud scores simply for using benign browser extensions (like adblock) while the survey page was loaded. If you would be down to take the survey once more time, this time with all browser extensions turned off, and email me your completion code (so that I know which survey response is yours), I should be able to tell if that's what happened in your case, and would then be able to potentially overturn the rejection."
The survey is full of standard trauma-related questions.
Advice to Requester
Please consider not using automated metrics to judge whether your respondents are authentic.
