Pros

First off this hit is very simple to do. All you are doing is searching for letters on a grid. Brainless task.

Hit pays $8.00 Guaranteed and then a Bonus determined by 2 of the 24 Rounds you participate in. I received $5.40 for a bonus for a Total of $13.40 for the hit (Your bonus could very well be better or worse than mine and is very simple to get) Not really sure why the hit is set up for $0.50 but then when you start the hit everyone is guaranteed $8.00. So really Hit was $8.00 and my Bonus is $5.40.

You get about 1 Minute for break between each round however there is a timer and the each round starts after the timer runs out so you must do this straight through basically. You have no time for any long breaks.

Pros

Guaranteed base of $8.00 for completing the study. Bonus on top of base comes from doing 24 rounds and then 2 of the 24 chosen for bonus payments.
- tell you at the end very clearly what your bonus will be

Cons

- Overall total is good, but hourly is just okay and that's only if your better rounds are chosen.
- Incredibly repetitious and feels like it lasts forever
- Breaks between rounds are only a minute long
- It is possible to get $0 in a round and that round be picked for payment.

Advice to Requester

Add two 5-10 minute breaks into the study to allow for a bathroom or sanity break. Your expected time to complete is 2 hours, you must allow longer breaks than currently exist.

Pros

no real concerns of missing out on the highest possible bonus. Task itself is somewhat interesting.

Cons

Task keeps going even after you hit the target amount for a bonus, which adds a LOT of wasted time to it (12 rounds of 7.5 minutes, and I was hitting my target for the bonus in just over half that time). All rounds must be done successively with at most a 1 minute break in between each. Small amount of writing at the end.

Advice to Requester

If it doesn't cost your data quality, cut off a round when the bonus has been reached or give more bonus for going substantially over. Provide an optional break at the halfway point. It's weird to have a substantial "completed the HIT" bonus instead of just higher compensation on the HIT itself.
