40 minute research task with bonus ($0-$2)(~ 40 minutes) - $4.00 +1.07 bonus Confirmed!
$8.86 / hour
00:34:19 / completion time
ProsYou can take a break in between sessions as it's broken into 4 sessions of 50 trials.
ConsI'm rating this underpaid for two reasons: You're pressing either f or j followed by the space bar for 200 timed rounds ("Every MTurk worker will complete the HIT in exactly the same time, so use the time you have for each decision to your advantage!") so it's guaranteed to take at least this long. Second, the bonus conversion is 1 cent per 10 points in the game and the max points per round is 9 so the theoretical max bonus is $1.8 and obviously you will never get 9 points every round, so they know very well no one is getting a $2 bonus on this.
Advice to RequesterDon't lie about the possible bonus range.
Quick Press Game(~ 20 minutes) - $2.00 +1.50 bonus Confirmed!
$15.85 / hour
00:13:15 / completion time
ProsReplied within 30 minutes on a Sunday regarding the bonus, except they said it would be sent out that day and it wasn't so I'm lowering comm to poor. Sent me a $1.50 bonus a week later when I emailed again, apparently they couldn't find my data?
ConsNo progress bar, repetitive space bar button pressing task for 2 rounds of ~6.5 minutes of each, of course they don't tell you the magnitude of the bonus beforehand so I'm absolutely not surprised that it was garbage. Also reCAPTCHA on the final page before you get the code. Kind of a short timer relative to the task length as well (40 minutes). Bonus not received as of 12/28, contacted 12/30
Tiny Alchemy(~ 60 minutes) - $0.00 +3.60 bonus Confirmed!
$21.60 / hour
00:10:00 / completion time
ProsPayment was fair. Kind of a cool task and you can work on it as long or as little as you want.
Possible bonus up to 51 or 52$ is pretty wild, though I'm guessing no one sticks around to get close to that.
Would almost like another shot at this cause I could have done better I think, but just kind of gave up as it was late and it became harder and harder as you went on.
Cool hit though.
ConsInterface kind of slowed me down. So, much clicking, and it's all kind of trial and error, so also part of why I gave up on getting more/ doing more.
