"This article appeared in a leading scientific journal and reflects facts" - obvious lie (although this particular manipulation of the fake article at least isn't the stupidly-false one). This exact fake article is overused in this sort of study to such a degree that anybody who has done more than one online study is guaranteed to have seen it.
