Advice to Requester
The intended function of this HIT appears to be testing an experimental manipulation based upon writing. It should be pointed out that this method of manipulation is HATED on mturk, as well as being of questionable efficacy (which I suppose is what merits the test).One of the key flaws of such manipulations is that they often assume certain behaviors or mentalities, or assume certain life experiences. For example, the question I saw assumed I have people I would consider "peers", and that I am or have been aware of their financial status. I (like MANY mturkers) live a quite unusual lifestyle. And I am... roughly aware of the financial state of two family member's households (because they mooch off me), and only know one other household's actual income (my Pastor - the church voted on a budget that included his pay a while back). I also find it outright immoral to compare my financial state with others.
