Consent form is bare bones and doesn't include institutional affiliation or mention of Inquisit.

Advice to Requester

Ethically, it's irresponsible to say this is an academic survey while not providing any information to participants about your institutional affiliation, name, or contact information. It also seems dubious not to warn participants in advance that they will need to download and run specialized software in order to participate--especially when that is not made apparent until after an entire opinion questionnaire.

If you make it apparent upfront on the consent form, in the HIT description, in the title, and/or in the instructions that this is an Inquisit task, you will get a lot fewer frustrated Turkers quitting partway through the HIT and a lot better quality of data out of truly consenting participants.

Advice to Requester

Your "imagine you joined" WHOLE SCENARIO is based on a key assumption: that respondents have any desire to meet others or socialize - respondents who are, in many cases, choosing to do academic surveys for pennies on the internet rather than get real jobs. I am an asocial introvert. I would not leave my house nor interact with anyone outside text-formats for months at a time if I could do so. I certainly wouldn't join a "social network" to "meet people to socialize with".
