Pros
After I messaged her and pointed out how the pay rate for this was inconsistent with her average pay rate shown on Turkerview of around $16 per hour, she rectified the problem by issuing me a bonus. That's not unheard of for a Requester to do...but what makes her unique is that I didn't have to message her through MTurk or even at her college-issued email. I simply left a comment in the Feedback section of her survey, and she responded by bonusing me the amount I suggested in that comment. I would call it coincidence except that this is actually the second time that has happened; this is, her issuing me a bonus in response to my raising a valid grievance in the feedback section and suggesting a bonus amount. No, I don't think that would work for every survey; on most of hers I don't have any complaints anyway because the pay/work ratio is fair. I also should point out here that I laid out my case in detail and politely, not via a "screw u scammer!" type "venting" comment. So, merely complaining might not have the same effect as a detailed grievance. Still, from all appearances, this Requester is a rare specimen...a Requester who actually reads the Feedback sections on her surveys.
Cons
In the interest of fairness I should put down that this HIT didn't initially pay almost $15/hour. It was more like $9.50. However, this did get remedied (and quickly, within a couple hours actually) when I messaged the Requester.Yoyo Average Pace

Really sketchy. Requires you to give information on the amount you spent every day in the past week, and then verify it via a screenshot of your mobile banking information / credit card information / ect.Although I followed the instructions exactly as they said to, putting in the amount I spent everyday, then taking a screenshot of my credit card information (besides blocking out all of the personal info - I used on credit card for all my purchases in the past week), they still rejected me.
The reason?
"Your work did not meet our standards"
A typical bot response. I don't believe a human being verified this work at all. If they did, they are clearly lazing and incompetent, seeing as they couldn't be bothered to actually explain what I apparently did wrong.
Did I not spend enough money during the past week? Were they actually scamming for personal information, and thus, blacking it out made them reject me?
Who knows!
Advice to Requester
If you're going to reject someone, don't make them jump through hoops first. It's crazy to make someone log into their banking or credit card app, collect personal payment info, and then still reject them after giving you everything on a silver platter, all without explaining why! That's the other thing: If you're going to reject someone, at least have the courtesy to explain why. How do you expect Workers to meet your standards if you don't even tell them what your standards are or how to meet them?
Basically, instead of treating Workers like faceless robots that you can just get free work out of (assuming you aren't scamming for identifiable personal info, which seems plausible at this point), treat them like human beings, and explain what exactly you want. It's not hard.

Pros
None pay wise but here is the structure of the hit - read instructions - work the first part and try to gain as many points as possible for a bonus - second part depending on the decision about the point accumulation just continue to work on the task - demographics - they do explain the bonus structure at the beginning but to be fair I had no idea how bad it was - could be done a little quickerCons
Bonus is not even worth bothering about I have to say for the length of the task I was so disappointed and I even doubled my points, I got a whopping 38c so a total of $1.38 for 15 minutes of my time!! Wow!!
