ProsThey could be shadier and reject work, so I guess there's that. Think lots of different people use the Wharton account(s), so hits/ surveys from them seem to vary in quality, but this is a great example of a requester who has just gone down hill over the years.
ConsScrew Wharton at this point. This survey just left an extremely sour taste in my mouth. The way the hit title/ consent form are worded, it makes it seem like the "up to 9.50" bonus part is guaranteed and based on our decisions entirely and it's just a matter of how much. It's not until you read the scenario, etc, that you find out you only have a 1/100 chance at that bonus.
Underpaid. Annoying. Flawed. Assuming it will annoy others too, which does impact the data, so this study's results are basically useless.
Advice to RequesterBe up front about the bonus. Our decisions have less to do with it than dumb luck. Or just pay smaller bonuses to everyone.
Edit: Had you just put that the 9.50 was 1/100 right away, I probably wouldn't have been so bothered by it. It's the fact that the survey seems designed to draw people in by that bonus, but then it is a super long shot.

ProsDecent if you don't mind transcription and can type fast enough to make it worth it, they also included a timer which helped me gauge whether or not it was worth it to do it at all.
ConsBonus could be less if I made some typos, also not sure if you can do more than 12 entries or it broke in the middle because new articles stopped appearing and I had to click the arrow like 50 times to finally get to the end
Edit: Thought I was getting $9, only got $5 which makes this kind of not worth it

ProsMy partner actually offered me a decent wage, or so I originally thought.
ConsI assume experiences will vary greatly due to the nature of the task. I had to wait ~4 minutes to be matched up with a partner and you could end up being offered a garbage wage in the end anyway. It says max bonus is $2.50, but they offered me a wage corresponding to $3, so not sure what's up with that. One month and I have yet to receive the bonus.
I sent multiple emails back and forth about not receiving the bonus. They claimed they already sent it and that my bonus was only $0.75 and not $3 because I apparently agreed on a wage that was significantly lower than I remember agreeing on. After asking for proof, they then sent me a bonus of $0.75.
