At the end of the survey on the gender part of the demographics question, the requester made the options for gender be:-Male
-Female
-Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, etc
- Prefer not to say
Could they be implying that only straight people can be male or female?? Pretty ignorant for a researcher, in my opinion.
Advice to Requester
"Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, etc" isn't a gender. Please educate yourself about LGBT related topics.LGBT people aren't a separate gender! A lesbian woman is a woman, a gay man is a man, etc. A trans person could choose to identify as trans specifically, but being gay, lesbian, or bisexual isn't related t gender.
